14 week bump update

So as of last Friday I am now 14 weeks pregnant so I’m going to tell you how week 13 went.

Sadly it’s not good. I am now on day 5 of diarreah. I am extremely weak and just feel so poorly 🙁 I’ve also been loosing weight.

I went to the hospital yesterday and was told to rest and drink plenty as there is not much else they can do as it’s just a tummy bug. They did say if it’s still continuing tomorrow I need to go to my GP to have some tests done.

I have my first GTT (I’ve got to have two) on Tuesday, I didn’t think I’d say this but I hope I can make it.

I had an appointment at the hospital last Thursday with the hypertension team and was unable to make it so I’ve got to go this week again.

Other than the illness, pregnancy wise I’ve felt better. The sickness feeling has subsided a lot. I was sick the other day but I think the pain in my tummy made that happen.

Heartburn has been pretty nasty this week though. I’ve never liked milk absolutely can’t stand Gavascon so have been at a bit of a loss. Any tips?

So there you have it, it’s not been a great one. Let’s hope next week is better 🙂

  1. Hope you feel better soon 🙁 Had a tummy bug myself last week so now how miserable it is!

As for heartburn, again I am like you – don’t like milk but hate gaviscon though I do find the tablets a bit easier to swallow as such.

  2. Oh dear! That doesn’t sound good. I had a tummy bug in early pregnancy with my daughter and it turned out to be something called campila bacta (not sure of spelling), which is actually quite nasty. So do get tested if you’re still not better!

Oh dear that doesn’t sound too good. I hope you are feeling better. It’s not the best being unwell when you have a pregnancy to deal with as well. Especially when there isn’t much they can do. Definitely go and get tested if you are no better though. Better to be sure 🙂 #MaternityMondays

  4. Oh no, you’re having a bit of rough time eh? Hope it improves soon hun x #MaternityMondays

  8. I hated gaviscon too but somehow could get on with the tablets if you haven’t tried them? Hope you feel better soon darl xxx

  9. So sorry to hear you are feeling so poorly! Have you tried a flavoured milk? Strawberry milk has been my heartburn saviour the last few weeks and may be more bearable if you don’t like the milk taste… Xx

  10. Sorry to hear that you haven’t been great, fingers crossed the diarrhoea passes soon and you start to feel better
