So 21 weeks! We’re officially past the half way point!
This week is totally boring pregnancy wise because I have just felt really poorly, well all of us have. I had a diabetic appointment this week but had to cancel it because we have all been so poorly.
So not a lot to report. I will tell you what’s happening with baby boy though
- baby now weighs about three-quarters of a pound and is approximately 10 1/2 inches long, about the size of a carrot
- His eyebrows and eyelids have now formed and it’s possible for them to blink. He now already has taste buds and can taste a variety of different flavours depending on what I eat and what’s entering the Amniotic fluid. He will be swallowing this fluid now as he practice’s his technique.
- His skin is also looking a bit different now, as it will have gained a coating of a white, waxy substance known as Vernix caseosa. This protects his body from the effects of bobbing around in amniotic fluid for so long and stop him looking like he’s been in he bath for 40 weeks when he’s out 🙂
I’m feeling him a lot more this week and it’s still at that somersaults and twisting in your tummy stage so is making me feel very sick.
We have been buying gorgeous baby clothes this week too, he’s getting a lovely collection.
