A bad night

So last night was a bit of a rough night here. At 2am I was woken by teen son saying “mum quick, something is wrong with Harry” obviously I was totally panicked and ran into his room.

Harry was roasting hot to touch and talking about his ice cream and slush, asking where they had gone and getting angry when I said he didn’t have any. Just after that he threw up all over his bed.

I quickly cleaned him up, got all his bedding off and lay some clean blankets down. I have him some medicene and a drink which calmed him down a bit.

When I checked him temperature it was 39.2 so very high. He was calmer by this point but still hallucinating, he was imagining all sorts. It was quite scary.

Teen son said he woke because Harry was shouting “get them off me” repeatedly. Later when Harry came back to us he said he had a dream that giant spiders were ripping us all apart 🙁 poor thing.

Today he’s off school because of lack of sleep and they have a policy when children are sick. He seems a lot better today but definitely not himself.

I really hope he’s back to my cheeky little boy soon

Have you experienced this with your child before?
