From the moment Harry was born everyone commented what a ‘good’ baby I had. We were very ‘lucky’ (I think everyone who has a child is lucky but you know what I mean) because he slept through the night from very early on, he slept lots through the day, he had all his feeds, wasn’t very sick. And as he got older it all continued.
He was very laid back. Napping twice a day, eating all his meals, would eat anything you have him. He would go to sleep as soon as you put him down and would sleep from 6 till 6 everyday.
We had the odd few times where he didn’t do these things because he was poorly but they weren’t often.
That was until he turned two (actually it was about 2 weeks before his second birthday) everything changed!
He would throw his plate before even trying his food.
It would take him hours to get to sleep.
He would get up multiple times through the night.
Biting, hitting, kicking all became a regular thing from him.
Every task like dressing, changing, feeding etc would just become a horrible chore.
It wasn’t fun to take him out anymore because we would worry that he would become difficult.
Don’t get me wrong I love him no matter how he behaves but it wasn’t fun.
But this past week he has walked to and from playgroup nicely.
He’s been fun to be with.
He’s slept through the night a almost every night and he’s been eating all of his meals.
I really hope it was just a phase (I don’t remember it with the older two) and we’re now over it.
Did/have you experiences the same or similar?
