Christmas gift ideas for teens

As soon as Christmas starts approaching I start getting the “What would *child’s name* like for Christmas” with the little ones you just have to mention their favourite show or character but as soon as they’re teenagers its so much harder because teenagers don’t say a lot. Getting what they would like for Christmas out of them is like getting blood from a stone! But I have found some items that will make even the moodiest of teens share a little smile.

  1. Food! Any kind of selection box or box of sweets will do but if its the only think you’re buying I would go with a hamper style. American Candy type ones are most popular.
  2. Gift vouchers. You can’t go wrong with a Amazon/Argos/New Look etc voucher because they can get what they would like themselves. Also if they have an Xbox or PlayStation you can get gift cards for them to spend on the online stores.
  3. A big bag of toiletries. This may seem like a boring one but they will use them and the parents will definitely be thankful. Teenagers go through so much toiletries in a month, you feel like buying them the shop wouldn’t be enough.
  4. Take a look in the shops and see what is popular right now I.e pugs, unicorns etc. Teenagers do tend to go with the trends.
  5. Check out their YouTube watch list and see who they watch. Most youtubers have merchandise to buy.
  6. Make an amazon wish list with their name on and ask them to add items to it so you can just pick and choose from the list.

That’s all I can think of now, do you have any suggestions?

I have got my teen quite a few things you have mentioned….hehehe

  2. Good tips! I like the idea of an amazon wishlist, I may have to do that when my two are older! x

Great tips – especially the amazon wishlist!

  4. My friend who has a teenager daughter does the Amazon wish list, its a great idea and makes my life easier!

  5. I have done my son a teen hamper filled with socks, Lynx, sweets and a magazine. Also got him a Young Driver experience which he has no clue about. Can’t wait to see his face on Christmas morning x

  6. I don’t know any teenagers so I would be totally at a loss what to buy them. These ideas are all things I found myself thinking “oh, of course”, but I wouldn’t have been able to come up with myself.

  7. Great suggestions, I have a 12 year old brother who is hellish to buy for. He goes through phases so quickly, so I can buy an amazing present one week that will have no relevance the next! The vouchers would be a good idea for him!

  8. I have never thought about using the amazon wish list. Such a good idea. I get ideas for my son by keeping an eye on what he watches on you tube. He doesn’t do the normal toys.

I found that a gift card for Costa was well received on my 17 year olds birthday. Its the gift that keeps on giving cos I load it up for him every now and again too! All out of Christmas ideas though. He is insisting on nothing but hard cash this year. I have a 16 year old daughter and a 13 year old daughter too. They are really easy to buy for though. Jack wills or Hollister anything. My 10 year old son is also simple to buy for still. Oh one thing I’ve got all of them is phone chargers ( wireless) I’m hoping it stops the never ending my chargers gone/broken/ stolen arguments! Oooh and headphones each too.
