Dettol handwash and laundry cleanser review!

I was recently sent some Dettol products to review. I love Dettol, it’s a product we use a lot so I was very excited to be asked to review some of their new items. First up we have the Dettol Laundry Cleanser

Add Dettol Antibacterial Laundry Cleanser to your wash to kill 99.9% of bacteria, for hygienically clean laundry even at low temperatures. It works even at 15 degrees to get rid of the bacteria that survive and can be transmitted within the wash when you wash at low temperatures.

Just add a couple of caps to the fabric softener drawer to guarantee hygienically clean laundry, every time.

Dettol Antibacterial Laundry Cleanser is available in Fresh Cotton and Soothing Lavender light fragrances.

If you wash your clothes at low temperatures you are not alone, with 96% of mums claiming to regularly wash at 40°C (me being one of them). However, when you wash at temperatures below 60°C, bacteria can survive and transfer between garments in the wash. Experts refer to this as a ‘bacterial soup’ as germs can spread from contaminated items to other items in the wash, with as many as 1 million bacteria living in just 2 tablespoons of wash water.

I was really surprised when I read the above statement. So I was keen to start using the laundry cleanser. I have been using it for over a week now and none of us have reacted badly to it,  so that’s good. Personally I’m not sure what more I can say about it. It washes my clothes well (as did my usual detergent) my clothes smell clean. It doesn’t have a fragrance (the lavender one may have) but they do smell clean. Other than that I cant really say if it’s cleaner because how could I possibly know? Having said that, reading the above statement does make me want to continue using it for peace of mind.

Next we have the have the Dettol hand wash, honey.

I love this hand wash and will definitely be buying it again! Having a teen, a tween and a toddler, I do worry they don’t wash their hands properly (I know they don’t always) so it’s great peace of mind knowing this hand wash kills 99.9% of germs.

The smell is amazing! Who doesn’t like lovely smelling products? 🙂

My hands have felt really soft and smooth since using it too. It has E45 cream in the hand wash so I believe that’s the reason. We use E45 cream for all sorts in this house so that is a huge selling point for us.  It’s also lasting very well which is always a bonus. The new E45 hand washes are also available in camomile and lotus flower. I will definitely be trying all those out too.

If you wish to buy any of these products, you will find them in most supermarkets.

This is not a sponsored post. I was sent this item to review but all opinions are my own.

Sounds like they are good products. The hand wash would be goo for the children especially I think.

I love the idea of the extra hygiene provided by the Laundry cleaner!

  7. Love the sound of the handwash! However a bit dubious of the laundry cleanser. Although it is nice to keep the bugs away, it’s also a good idea to let your body become immune to them.

  8. Great that your hands feel really soft, too. We’ve used this, and I like it.
