Fairy Tales of Hans Christian Andersen book review

As part of the Parragon book buddie scheme we get sent a fantastic book each month to review. We love books in our house so this is perfect for us. This month we received The Fairy Tales of Hans Christian Anderson. This book is absolutely lovely and a classic.

Hans Christian Anderson (1805-1875) was born over 200 years ago, but the magic in his fairy tales sparkles down through the generations. The stories are vivid and rich – bustling with strutting emperors, shimmering mermaids and tiny people no bigger than your thumb. Hans imagination was so inspired, it could even give a voice to a lonely fir tree or a little tin soldier with one leg.

Sadly Harry hasn’t got the attention span to listen to a whole story as they’re quite long (as you would expect) but I have enjoyed reading them 🙂

The book is beautiful outside and inside. I love the illustration

The book features some of his most famous fairy tales like The Little Mermaid, The Emperors New Clothes and The Ugly Duckling. All of which I love.

I can’t wait until Harry is that little older so I can read these magical stories to him. I have a 6 year old niece and I think she would love to listen to these stories at bedtime.

I definitely would recommend this book to anyone with children. It’s also a lovely book for adults 🙂
