The teen was recently sent Geek Girl- All that Glitters by Holly Smale to review. Because This one is actually number 4 in the series, she was also sent Geek Girl (number 1) so she could get a feel of the series and it’s always best to start from the beginning.

I must say she’s not a huge fan of books. We’re a family of readers but myself and tween are the biggest readers. It’s not very often the teen will choose a book over technology.

Having said that, I’m happy to say she absolutely adored this book. I will let her write her own review at the bottom but she came to me after a couple of days and said she had read the first one and loved it! Her actual words were “A book I actually love and want to read more” She has even asked if I will buy number 2 and 3 in the series too 🙂

She also received some lovely red glitter glasses which she put on as soon as she got them and has only taken them off for school 🙂

Holly Smale is the author of Geek Girl, Model Misfit and Picture Perfect. She was unexpectedly spotted by a top London modelling agency at the age of fifteen and spent the following two years falling over on catwalks, going bright red and breaking things she couldn’t afford to replace. By the time Holly had graduated from Bristol University with a BA in English Literature and an MA in Shakespeare she had given up modelling and set herself on the path to becoming a writer. Geek Girl was the no. 1 bestselling young adult fiction title in the UK in 2013. It was shortlisted for several major awards including the Roald Dahl Funny Prize and the Branford Boase award, nominated for the Queen of Teen award and won the teen and young adult category of the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize.

Teens review….

I think the book was very funny. I like the story line because she is abit like me, she is very clumsy and likes make-up. When I read the book I wore the glasses too (I love them). I really want to read the other ones now because I enjoyed the 1st and 4th book. I’m not normally a huge fan of books, but I’m so glad I was sent these to read. I rate it a 5/5

I have been given the chance to host a giveaway for one lucky winner to win either 1 or 4 in the series (the choice is yours) and a pair of glittery red glasses 🙂
