Harry has always been afraid of the dark. The problem we have is we don’t want to get him a night light as his brother shares with him and doesn’t want a light in his room. We have found that having a night light in the hallway has kept him happy for now`the problem is when we want to check on the boys at night, we can’t see them. We usually have to use our phone lights. That was until we found GroLight from The Gro Company.
This is a genius idea. It fits like a normal light bulb but when you flip the switch it’s a night light, flip it again and its a regular light. So we can turn it on to check on the boys and not disrupt them (and you don’t have to search around for a standard night light) and then it can be used as you would your usual light.
You can use the light in a ceiling bayonet light fitting or in a lamp with a bayonet fitting. it doesn’t work with dimmer switches but it is cheaper than leaving your dimmer switch on.
I will also add that if you don’t like the look of it you can put your light shade on as you would with a normal bulb as my photo below shows.
This works perfect for us but I could also see it being very useful for parents with newborns as you could easily go in to their rooms for nappy changes or night feeds and not have to alarm them with the main light or have to fumble around in the dark.
It really is a clever item and was so easy to fit. It takes the same time to fit and as easy to fit as putting a regular bulb in. My photo’s don’t really do it justice unfortunately because I only have an iphone. But it gives a lovely warm glow as a night light and makes the light bulb look a little brighter than normal when its’s switched on to full.
It is available from The Gro Company for a price of £17.99 which is an excellent price in my opinion for what it does. I honestly could not recommend it enough. Even the teen and tween have been turning it on and off and saying how awesome it is.
*Disclosure- We were sent this night light for the purposes of this review, but all words and opinions are my own.
