Harry was 5 on the 5th of August but Tom was working that day so we had to have Harry’s party on the 6th August.
Harry wanted a soft play party but we’ve recently moved house and are really far from his old school friends and he he only went to his new school for one week, it just wasn’t going to happen.
We thought we would have one at home but we only moved 12 weeks ago and everywhere needs decorating (it literally didn’t even have flooring when we moved in) so again not really ideal.
So I put my thinking cap on and decided on a picnic in the park. We’ve discovered a new park near us which is really big. It has toilets, a little cafe, two parks and lots of places to walk with trees and flowers. It’s just a lovely place. So I thought we could have a giant picnic, let the kids play and just enjoy the day.
We invited all our family and it was just perfect! I made all the food, I just asked people to bring a couple of picnic blankets.
We at food, played in the park, opened Harry’s presents, played with them and chatted. Perfect! Here are some photos (Some family would prefer to not be on the blog) 🙂
Over all a wonderful day and I highly recommend you look for a local park if you’re looking for a cheaper birthday party 🙂
