On the 5th July 2013 my son Jordan turned 11 years old and on the 6th july 2013 he had his birthday party. This party has taken us months to prepare but it was a massive hit 🙂 So I’m sharing it with you guys in case your stumped on what to do for your pre-teen’s birthday!
6 of the 8 friends that were invited turned up so including my two that made 8. First of all we put them into two teams of four with a team captain on each.
The first game was an “I’m a celebrity get me out of here” type game using mystery boxes with small holes and different things in that they had to feel
A tarantula (pipe cleaners, but they were really convinced)
A dead possum (cuddly toy)
Eyeballs (peeled grapes)
Worms (Cooked spaghetti in oil)
They loved this game but we could not believe how many wimps there was! Hehe
After we had another “I’m a celebrity get me out of here” type challenge but this time it was a taste challenge! 🙂
Rabbit droppings (raisins in chocolate)
Bone marrow (clover sweets)
Vomit (popping candy)
Snot (baby food)
Dried blood (Fireball sweet)
They loved this challenge too and some of the faces are hilarious! This is my son with the baby food
We also played pin the tail on the donkey and because it was so hot my OH put the hose on them (we did state on the invitations that the children should come in old clothes as they may get wet or dirty) we also had a few water bombs 🙂 They loved it!
For food and drink they had cola (swamp water)
Mouldy pizza (pizza base, tomato puree, cheese with green food colouring and cook)
(The photo doesn’t do it justice)
And cat poo cakes (chocolate cupcakes and piped chocolate icing on top)
The kids had so much fun and we heard lots of “That’s sick” “Cool” “Awesome” so I would definitely recommend anyone doing this!
P.S I don’t have a huge amount of pictures because I don’t have permission from parent’s and nearly every picture includes all children.
