Pizza puff rolls and flapjack

Today I have been baking and I thought I would share it with you 🙂

Firstly I made flapjacks.

 


I pinched this recipe from Pinterest, Iv’e made these a few times and it has always turned out lovely and the kids and OH have never complained. In fact they always ask me when I’m making more 🙂

The recipe is so easy. It takes me literally 30 mins from start to finish.

You will need:

 

  • 250g butter
  • 200g sugar
  • 4-6 tablespoons golden syrup
  • 500g oats

 

Preheat oven to 190c (gas mark 5) Add butter and sugar to mixing bowl. Microwave until the butter has melted (stirring occasionally) If you don’t have a microwave you can always do it over the hob. Add 4-6 tablespoons of golden syrup (I always use 6) give it all a mix and then add the oats. Mix until the oats are completely covered with the mixture. Spoon into a baking dish or onto a baking tray and press with the back of spoon to compact down. Bake for 15-22 mins (depends on depth of baking tray you use etc.) until nice and golden brown on top. Cut into squares and leave to cool for 5 mins before removing from the dish. Enjoy!

I didn’t do the egg and herb bit because I was following the recipe by memory and I forgot those bits but they were still tasty. They were incredibly easy and inexpensive. I will definitely be making them again. They are good for snacks and the kids packed lunches. Also great to take for picnics in the summer.

The kids have just come home from school and sampled them and they say they are “Yummy!” 🙂
