My top items for travelling with children

As a mum of four (two teenagers and 2 younger ones) I’ve been on many trips and holidays and travelled with children so I know how difficult it can be at times. But I’ve used and seen a few items that I think help whilst travelling with children. Some items I’ve used and some I’ve not but I think they’re a good idea and I intend to buy them for our holiday in October 🙂

In Car DVD Player

These are great for long journeys to keep the kids entertained. We like to let our children read books, colour, play eye spy and other in car games but there is only so much you can do to keep them occupied. These give you a little break if it’s a long journey.

Plastic Boxes

I saw this on a social media site a couple of weeks ago and thought it was a fantastic idea. You know those boxes you get with lots of sections in and a lid? Well you could use them to put snacks in for the kids, like those expensive bento boxes. Genius!

Trunki SnooziHedz Blanket

I love these! They’re a pillow and blanket in one. Perfect for keeping your little ones cosy in the car when they nod off as all children do on a long journey.

Seat Organiser

I love the look of this Diono. When travelling with kids you need so much and it can easily mess up the car or it’s in a changing and not easily reachable while travelling so this is perfect to keep the drinks, wipes, snacks, books, toys etc in one place.

My Carry Potty

When you have children in the car you can guarantee they need the toilet at the most inconvenient times. So this My carry potty is brilliant for when they need to go and there are no toilets available. And if there is nowhere to dispose of the pee, it’s OK because you can close the lid until you do find somewhere because this is sealed tight and wont spill.

And of course to always make sure you Tax and MOT are up to date 🙂

These are the items I recommend to make car journeys with small children as easy as possible. Good luck and happy holidaying 🙂

If you have any other items you love or tips, please let me know in the comments x

OMG I cannot go anywhere without our ‘carry potty’ (we have it in yellow). It’s a god send!
