Word of the Week 20/06/2014

My word this week is britmumslive. Yes I know it’s not really one word but it is in a hashtag so I’m using it πŸ™‚ And yes I know that loads of people will have a similar word but I am using it because I wasn’t going to but things changed. Let me explain.

As of Tuesday this week I wasn’t going to britmums live. I was gutted that I couldn’t afford it or get a sponsor. I watched as twitter talked about the excitement, getting their business cards and other things with their blog names on, about what outfits they were wearing, having their hair done and so on. But then on Wednesday I found a sponsor! I am being sponsored by the very awesome Children Are WelcomeΒ they are a brilliant company and am very excited to be working with them πŸ™‚

I am so excited but incredibly nervous. I haven’t had time to get new outfits or get my hair done and I haven’t got any business cards πŸ™

I worry far too much about what people will think of me (mostly on my appearance) I know at my age I shouldn’t care and to be honest I don’t usually but today I am off to a new place, to a room of around 700 people that I have never met before. Plus there will be PR company’s there and I wont have any business cards. Any idea’s on how I can still look professional?

  1. How exciting for you! You can still take the PR’s cards and have conversations, which puts you in control of contacting them. As long as you do what you say you’re going to do, you’ll look professional. Enjoy! Thanks for sharing with #WotW x

  2. Kim Carberry says:

Oh wow! How very exciting! Have a wonderful time x

  3. Congrats with the sponsor. Have an awesome day there and I wish I could go too! #Britmumslive #wotw

  4. You needn’t have worried – I thought you were utterly fantabulous x

  5. I’m not sure if we met but hope you had a wonderful time despite the lack of preparation. I took business cards but only handed out around 10 so it really wouldn’t have mattered if I hadn’t had them! Well done on the sponsor at the last minute too – off to check them out now!
PS I went with the hashtag makes it one word really approach too!
