Zenji & the Muzzy Bug – The perfect stocking filler this Christmas, for sleepless tots AND their frazzled parents!

Originally published on US crowdfunding portal, Kickstarter.com, the 2nd edition of this life-changing bedtime story is currently available to purchase on Amazon, and on www.buddabugzz.com. Best known for being a TV presenter on Irelands national TV station RTÉ, author and illustrator Aislí Madden also published the Irish bestseller, “All about Home Economics”, written by her late mother, Deirdre Madden in 2011. She now takes on the children’s market with the first of seven Buddabugzz titles, all of which are designed to promote sleep and nurture children’s mental health from infancy. With vibrant 3D illustrations, Zenji & the Muzzy Bug is guaranteed to entertain and appeal to children of all ages, but what makes this book special, is that it promises to get kids to sleep quicker than ever before, using mindfulness techniques that have been integrated into the story. These mindfulness skills promise to send little ones to sleep quickly and calmly, and if practiced regularly, can benefit children their entire lives. Characters Zenji and Karma encourage readers to listen to their inner voice, believe in their inner strength, and be mindful of their hero within. Mindfulness prescribed by thousands of doctors as a treatment for insomnia. Its benefits are incalculable and its practice is on the increase, it is even being introduced into schools all over the world, which is not surprising as it has been clinically proven to enhance focus and learning ability. It is used worldwide by the medical profession to treat stress and anxiety and is considered to be the key for maintaining positive mental health. The mental health of our children should be paramount, according the World Health Organisation, 20% of children suffer from mental health issues, with many beginning as early as age five. Zenji & the Muzzy Bug, the first book of the Buddabugzz series, aims to nurture mental health by giving children the tools to deal with stress and anxiety before serious issues take root.

The Story

Zenji the Buddabug is feeling rather unwell. He is stuck in bed and he’s extremely bored… That’s until his buddy Karma appears and takes him on a magical adventure… inside Zenji’s body! After listening to Karma’s relaxation rhyme, Zenji is transported inside his own body where he heals himself from within, and becomes more relaxed with each breath he takes.

Our thoughts

We loved reading this book. Harry loved all the characters and thought they were funny. He did listen to the book too, it kept his full attention and he didn’t get bored. I don’t know if it was the book, but he did go to sleep almost straight away with no fuss and he slept through the night with no wake up’s 🙂

The book is available direct from the publisher at Buddagugzz or at Amazon USA or Amazon UK and is available in printed or ebook.
