As the summer holidays are approaching, I thought I would share some places in the midlands (where I live) that are a good place to enjoy a day out with the kids but don’t cost a fortune, because we all know the summer holidays are expensive. I will try my best to give you prices.
This is a lovely day out. Lots of animals to feed, pet and cuddle, a great outdoor and indoor play area and a cafe. £5 per person.
A great day out with the kids. Lots of woods to walk through, a park and ducks to feed. Take a picnic, a ball, some frisbees, chairs etc and you can spend hours there. Free to enter the park but car park is £3
Again it’s similar to the above. Take a picnic, games to play and you can spend hours there. They also have a park. Free to enter but parking is between £2-£4
The boys love it here! So many birds to see. It’s not very big so best to take your time but we’ve been a few times and it’s always a good couple of hours. Adults £8.50 children £5.75 under 4s free.
We’ve been to many zoo’s but we found this one of the best. Lots of animals that are usually always out. It’s a bit of an uphill walk but we enjoyed that. Its not super cheap like the ones above but it is more affordable than a lot of other days out. It’s £44 for 2 adults and 2 children but they have lots of different family offers on the website.
I personally haven’t been here but my son has been (when he was a little younger) with his grandparents and he said it was a great day out. It’s £35 for a family ticket. Under 4s free.
There are lots of places that do this up and down the country but I have linked the one we went to. Car parking was around £4 and the Gruffalo map was £1.50 and we spent hours there. The kids loved it!
This is also in lots of places up and down the country but have tagged the same forest as above. The trail is £3 per kit and parking charge.
Any more you would add? We’d love to try out some new places this summer!
