I was tagged in this Q&A meme by Jocelyn over at The Reading Residence
I love reading and always have and thankfully my children do too. So when I was tagged I got really excited. Firstly because I can share some of my favorite books and secondly to read other peoples favorites because I may find some new favorites 🙂
So here goes…..
What were your favorite reads from your childhood?
Roald Dahl, Goosebumps and The Diary of Anne Frank
There are always those books that defined your teen reads and stay with you – what were yours?
Again Roald Dahl and I also enjoyed the classics like The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe and The Railway Children
Who are your favorite authors currently?
J.K Rowling, A.A.Milne, Terry Pratchett
Which 3 genres do you gravitate towards most often?
Fantasy, Biography/Autobiography (not celebrities though) and History
Can you choose your top titles from each of those genres?
Fantasy- Harry Potter by J.k.Rowling
Biography- With the old breed by E.B.Sledge
History- I don’t have a favorite I just like all books on History (I.e The horrible History’s books and of course the adult aquivalent)
And your least favorite genres?
Sci-fi and political
Of the many, many fictional and fantastical worlds, where would you most like to visit?
It has to be Hogwarts or Discworld
Everyone loves a villain, right?! Who would make your favorites list?
I don’t know if you would class him as a villian but Ebenezer Scrooge because he’s good at the end 🙂
Share the books that have had you sobbing?
Some of my Biography’s I have read are extremely sad, even the titles are sad
Cry myself to sleep, A boy named it and Silenced
And let’s end on a high! Which books leave a smile on your face, and maybe elicit a few laughs?!
Bill Bryson. My dad introduced me to this man and his books. He is very funny
Also I have an audio book (I know naughty but you can buy the book in real life too) called Go the F**k to sleep by Adam Mansbach and it’s read by Samuel L Jackson. If you are a parent it’s a must read!
I tag anyone that would like to join in. You can also join in with the linky Here
And now you know what I like is there any books that you think I should read?
